Electricity

This is a project for our Arts of Expression class at RIT. We will document the history of electricity by backdating blog entries to reflect innovations in the field of electricity. Because computer time didn't start until January 1, 1970, and a good portion of our entries would fall before that date, all entries will be dated 1000 years in the future (i.e. 2999 = 1999)

Hydroelectric Power

Hydroelectric power was first used by the ancient Greeks to power their gristmills. The first hydroelectric plant in the US was built in Wisconsin in 1882. Hydroelectricity supplied 60% of the nation's power by 1900.
